The skipper is well aware of the Gunners’ qualities and admits you have to respect that — up to a point.
Big Sol said: “Arsenal always seem to have a strong side and they are good players. You have to respect good players and then play your own game.
“You have to approach the game in a positive way, apply yourselves, make the right decisions and play well.
“You can’t keep worrying about all these players. Okay, they’ve got good players but you’ve got to move on, play your own game and get the team together.
“It’s always a big game but you don’t want the occasion to overtake the whole situation, you want to play well. It will be tight, plenty of tension but you have to keep your head clear and do the job.
“It will be a good game, it’s on Sky and I’m sure it will be great for the neutral.”
Meanwhile, Sol took his hat off to Arsenal’s defensive ‘legends’ and his international team-mates Tony Adams and Martin Keown. “Their record is second to none,” he said.
“They’ve been playing together for a long time along with Steve Bould as well and they are two class acts playing together. They are legends.
“They have reached the pinnacle and still keep on going. Hats off to them, they’ve had great careers and still keep on going.”
