English Barclays Premiership

Sol Campbell faces up to six weeks on the sidelines.

Our super skipper will undergo minor keyhole surgery on Saturday - known officially as an Arthroscopy - to repair damage sustained when he dislocated his shoulder against Brentford in the Worthington Cup on Tuesday.

Campbell suffered the problem in the first half of the 0-0 draw after falling awkwardly following a challenge with Mark McCammon.

The length of rehabilitation means Campbell will certainly miss the first two matches of England's World Cup qualifying campaign against Germany on October 7 and Finland on October 11.

He will also miss the second leg of the tie against the Bees and Premiership matches against Manchester City, Leeds United, Coventry, Derby, Chelsea and Sunderland.

Ramon Vega is favourite to take over at centre-back alongside Chris Perry against City on Saturday.
