Our super skipper is in the reserve team squad for the FA Premier Reserve League fixture at Nottingham Forest.
Big Sol has been out since September 19 when he suffered a dislocated shoulder against Brentford in the Worthington Cup second round, first leg tie at Griffin Park. The problem required surgery to repair muscle damage.
He has now stepped up his training and will take his first steps back to a Premiership return at the City Ground.
Reserve team manager Chris Hughton revealed: “It’s a long-awaited return for Sol which is a massive plus for the club. It will be his first game back. He has been involved on the training ground and we felt it was the right game for him to come back. It’s a huge plus for us.
“The time he’s taken to get himself right has been governed by the people that are in the know, the specialists, the physios. What you cannot afford to do is bring a player back too early and then find you are going to have problems in the future.
“It’s a massive plus for the club to have him back.”
Sol will join the likes of Steffen Freund, Chris Armstrong, Willem Korsten and Ian Walker in a very strong looking reserve team at Forest.
