Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

We are delighted to announce that the transfer of Swedish international defender Erik Edman from FC Heerenveen has been completed.

Erik underwent a medical this afternoon and agreed personal terms this evening.

For supporters who bought the new home kit and are attending the Open Day on Sunday, you will be able to hear from our newest recruit at the event. A limited number of tickets remain for the Open Day and are available with the purchase of a shirt from the Megastore.

The 25-year-old left-back joined the Dutch outfit in August 2001, after beginning his professional career at hometown club Helsingborgs in 1998.

Edman featured for Sweden in Euro 2004, playing in all three group games against Bulgaria, Italy and Denmark. He is not unfamiliar with two of our players - having come up against Jermain Defoe and Anthony Gardner when England travelled to Sweden for a friendly in March of this year.

Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven striker Edson Rolando Silva Sousa is attending a trial at the club and features in the squad for Saturday's friendly encounter against Nottingham Forest. He is joined for a trial period by Lens attacker Dagui Bakari.
