GREATER LONDON LADIES LEAGUE
Barnet Copthall 1-1 Spurs Ladies
Youngster Samantha Farnum, just 15, was the star of the show as Spurs Ladies did everything but find a winner at Barnet.
In a match played in torrential rain, Farnum created chances in the first before scoring in the second and then going close twice after.
With skipper Jackie Fearon back after the birth of her daughter Lacey, it was a case of so near year so far as the ladies dominated in the most part - the afternoon was summed up when Zoella Freeman's run and lob landed inches over in the last minute.
Gill Blackmore (pictured right) just failed to take advantage of an early Farnum cross and Chloe Theocharis' shot from the edge of the box was tipped around by the impressive home goalkeeper.
Blackmore fired straight at the keeper and Spurs, playing some fine football in the conditions, were denied again when Farnum's cross this time found Freeman but her header again went straight at the keeper.
Typically, the home side went ahead early in the second half as Tina Hills saved superbly but could do little as Barnet tapped home the rebound.
Mo Cordes went close and the equaliser arrived in the 54th minute as Farnum fired home from an acute angle.
Spurs poured forward. Farnum went close after 62 and 75 minutes and in the 77th minute the home keeper finally spilled a cross from Cordes but no-one was there to pick up the loose ball.
In the last minute of the game Spurs almost pulled off the win when Freeman went on a mazy dribble from the half-way line beating four defenders before chipping the keeper only for the ball to drop agonisingly just over the bar.

THE RESERVES lost out to a strong Watford outfit. The final score was 9-0 but although the defeat was heavy there were good performances from Kerry Daniells, Katie Jones, Anna Southgate and 15 year old keeper Claire Bloomfield.

THE UNDER-12s were unlucky to lose 4-2 to Harpenden Colts in the Herts Girls League with skipper Chanade Watson and Laura Parker on target.
THE UNDER-14s are in the semi-finals of the London Youth Cup after being awarded a walkover against Arsenal in Sunday's quarter-final. They now face Watford on November 4.
THE first team take on Dagenham & Redbridge at Brimsdown Rovers on Sunday, 2pm, while the reserve host Enfield at Frederick Knight SG, also 2pm.
