The German star needed emergency surgery after his thigh muscle blew up to twice its size - known as 'decompartmentalised' - after the Boxing Day clash against Charlton.
His recovery was going full-steam ahead until he twisted his knee in March - thankfully there was no serious damage.
"If it was just his thigh he would have been back," said Glenn. "But he just tweaked a knee ligament which was a blow because he would have been fit.
"His thigh was fantastic and he'd come back very quickly after what was a horrific injury. It's a blow for him and very frustrating."
Glenn Hoddle is convinced Christian Ziege would be back in action now if a knee problem hadn't hampered his recovery from a horror thigh injury.
