Goal hero Steffen Iversen was left scratching his head in disbelief after Richard Rufus denied what seemed a certain winner against Charlton on Boxing Day.
The Norwegian hitman grabbed our 86th minute equaliser after we'd trailed 2-0 in the Premiership cracker at the Lane.
But the drama wasn't over. As the clock ticked into injury time, Steffen latched onto the rebound from a fine save by Dean Kiely and his overhead kick appeared destined to complete the comeback in full until Rufus somehow headed the effort clear.
"When I hit it I thought it had to go in because I connected so well," reflected Steffen. "But obviously I hit it too well.
"I hit it straight at him but it was still great defending to get back on the line and clear it.
"Full credit to him but if I'd have miss hit it slightly then I think it would have gone in."
Steffen added that the recovery underlined the spirit at the club at the moment - it's now six games unbeaten in the Premiership.
"In the end we perhaps deserved to win it with those chances but the character of the team is great at the moment.
"There wasn't that much time left after I scored but we believed we could go on and win the game.
"We had three great chances after that, Simon's, my chance and then Robbie from the corner. Having said that, we should be happy with the 2-2 draw after being 2-0 down."
