Rohan Ricketts received a major boost earlier this week with the award of an extended contract to remain at the club and the midfielder took a little time out to reflect on what has been a memorable season so far for him.
Having joined in the summer of 2002, Rohan didn't feature for the first team in his first season as a Spurs player, but burst onto the scene on the opening day of this campaign when he was awarded his debut against Birmingham City at St Andrews.
He won many a plaudit for his display and remained in the starting line-up for the first six games and has featured regularly since then - much to his naturally exuberant delight.
"I am enjoying it, it is all new to me and I take every game as one step at a time," said Rohan. "I just want to keep playing and try to improve myself as a player - and improve the team with what I can bring to it."
Asked to nominate his favourite game so far, Rohan pointed to the disciplined point-winning performance against Liverpool in match three of the season.
"Anfield was a good night, I liked that game. I played well, but it wasn't all flair as people might expect of me - it was more intelligent and competent.
"There was the Coventry one where I only came on for a while, but I liked that game because of the goal," he added, before being reminded that his two goals have been in games he hasn't started.
"Yeah - Supersub! But I understand the tactics and the need for a different team sometimes. I don't mind, I just want to be in the squad all the time."
