Martin Jol says he's delighted with how Dimitar Berbatov, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Didier Zokora have settled at the Club.

We officially unveiled our new recruits at White Hart Lane on Monday.

All three have now played for us in friendlies following midfielder Didier’s debut for our Spurs XI team in Saturday's 2-0 win at Cambridge City.

Striker Dimitar and left-back Benoit have trained and played throughout pre-season and both have impressed – Dimitar opened his account with a couple of crackers in the win at Birmingham while Benoit’s all-action style has caught the eye.

“You always have to wait and see how they settle in - they have all done well so far and we will do everything for the players with people around the Club to help them,†said Martin.

“They have to cope themselves with English football - I can help them - and with what we’ve seen so far, they are on the way. Benoit and Dimitar have done well in the friendlies and Dimitar has scored a couple of terrific goals.

“We lined-up Didier Zokora early and Benoit is a very good option – he’s a left full-back but he could also play if necessary wide on the left.

“Dimitar was at the top of scoring charts in the Bundesliga with Miroslav Klose last season, he’s a very good mover, a target man, a goalscorer and we’re very happy to have them all on board.â€Â

Martin was asked if he felt the squad was stronger and responded: “If you look on the left we only had Young-Pyo Lee last season and now we have two options, in midfield we already had a few players but Carrick has gone and now Didier is here, we also have Edgar Davids, JJ, Tom Huddlestone and Teemu Tainio and up front Dimitar is here to give us his extra quality with his size, his touch and his overall play in the box. We are pretty satisfied.â€Â
