Spurs Under-19s 1 Birmingham City 0
A moment of magic from George Snee tipped a tight game our way on Friday.
Striker Snee delightfully curled home a 20-yard free-kick into the top corner in the 31st minute at Spurs Lodge.
Chances were at a premium in a scrappy encounter. The first fell to defender James Quilter after Ben Bowditch headed Jon Partin’s free-kick back across goal but the defender poked the ball wide.
We underlined our potential threat from dead balls when Yannick Kamanan curled inches wide from a well rehearsed free-kick after 28 minutes. Three minutes later and we made the Blues pay from an identical position, this time Snee finding the top corner from 20 yards.
Into the second half and impressive full-back Blake Saker blazed high and wide after a good break and a minute later, with 56 minutes on the clock, Jon Jonsson’s header was deflected wide.
The game turned into a midfield scrap after that with Mauricio Consorti and Partin particularly impressive for the home side.
The visitors carved out their best chance with three minutes left only to scoop the ball over the bar from 10 yards. Apart from that, City created little as we defended well.
Spurs U19s: Brennan, Saker, Burke, Bowditch, Quilter, Fortune, Partin, Snee, Kamanan, Jonsson, Consorti.
