The Club would like to remind supporters that there is no smoking in the North and West stands following a poll of fans last year.
The decision was made at the end of last season and aims to enable children and adults to enjoy the facilities at White Hart Lane in a smoke free atmosphere.
Reports have since been received that Stewards are being abused for enforcing the policy and the Club looks upon this situation very seriously. We will take all necessary action against these people if the problem continues.
Our Safety Officer commented "Like most theatres, cinemas or other sports arenas White Hart Lane has areas where smoking is forbidden. We would ask all fans seated in these areas to respect this policy and also respect the people doing their jobs in enforcing it.
"At the Aston Villa match some fans were also found to be congregating in gangways and in toilets to escape the ban, but it has to be stressed that these actions cause serious health and safety breaches and put fellow fans at risk."
The Club is building on similar schemes at other Premiership stadia including Bolton, Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
