Jamie Slabber grabbed a point with the last kick of the game at Spurs Lodge.

Newcastle were quick out of the blocks and their early possession was reward on the half-hour with a scrambled goal after Paul Rutherford's initial save.

It was a different story after the break and Mario Noto's fine effort - cutting in from the left before firing home with his right foot from the edge of the area - levelled the scores after 50 minutes.

However, the visitors hit back to take the lead again and despite late pressure that's how it looked it would finish until Slabber turned his man and shot home for the equaliser in injury time.

Boss Jimmy Neighbour reflected: "We started very slowly, they are a good team, passed it well and we found it difficult in the first half-hour.

"But we closed men down quicker after the break, got more men forward and got level with a great goal from Mario.

"We were on top for the last 10 minutes after they went ahead again and it looked like we might miss out until Jamie scored. Newcastle were good to watch but I thought we worked hard."
