Charlton Athletic U19s 1-2 Spurs

Goal machine Jamie Slabber took the step up to the Under-19s in his stride and capped his debut with a goal on Saturday.

So impressive so far for the Under-17s, Slabber grabbed the third and clinching goal after the home side threatened to rally.

Pat Holland's team started well and deservedly took the lead after 15 minutes when midfielder Dean Marney hit the spot with a free-kick.

It was soon 2-0 as Stephen Kelly's raid down the right flank ended with Lee Barnard burying his cross with only 25 minutes on the clock.

Charlton were a different side at the start of the second half and forced their way back into the game with a good finish to make it 2-1 after 67 minutes.

But any thoughts of a comeback were quickly nipped in the bud by Slabber who controlled David Glabraith's pass before dinking it over the goalkeeper for 3-1.

"Jamie took his goal well and that just about capped a good debut for us," said boss Pat. "He did well. I was pleased with his contribution."
