With no players returning from injury, and Dean Richards and Darren Anderton suspended, Glenn gives a call to two youngsters who have made their mark this season.
Marney - recently returned from a two-month loan spell at Swindon Town - and Slabber both featured in our reserve side's impressive win over Chelsea on Monday - the latter scoring our second goal in the 2-0 victory.
Boss Glenn Hoddle told this afternoon's press conference: "Jamie's a striker and Dean's been out on loan this year and done very well at Swindon.
"He's a midfielder who can play wing-back as well. He has quite a few strings to his bow and he's come on quite nicely in the last few months.
"You never quite know at that age if they are ready. It's about temperament. But they certainly have enough talent.
"No-one can tell if they are ready and they might just get out there, take the bull by the horns and go for it. If that happens, it will be a great start for them. They are in the squad though."
Still absent are Christian Ziege (thigh), Jamie Redknapp (toe), Anthony Gardner (hamstring), Chris Perry (neck - back in training this week), Robbie Keane (knee) and Steffen Iversen (back).
Squad: Keller, Sullivan, Bunjevcevic, Carr, Doherty, King, Taricco, Thatcher, Thelwell, Davies, Etherington, Freund, Poyet, Acimovic, Sheringham, Marney, Toda, Slabber.
Youth products Jamie Slabber and Dean Marney have been named in the squad to face Liverpool at the Lane on Sunday.
