Slabber at the double

Two goals from Jamie Slabber secured a 2-1 win for the under-19s at Norwich - making it four wins in a row for Pat Holland's side.

Pat takes up the story...

"We started off really well and got a bit of a freakish goal in the first minute. The keeper went to clear it, caught Jamie Slabber, the ball bounced kindly and Slabs put it in.

"It was nice for him to get off the mark and he has been working on his closing down so it was reward for that.

"We then had a good spell for about 15 minutes and could have increased the lead, but they came back after about 25 minutes with a good angled ball into the box and their boy finished well. Our keeper might possibly look at it though and feel he could have done a bit better.

"It lifted Norwich a little bit and I changed it round slightly in the second half to make it a bit tighter in midfield. We then had a really good spell although two clear cut chances fell to Norwich and Nicky came up with good saves.

"With about ten minutes to go, a terrific move down the right hand side involving Jamie O'Hara and Phil Ifil, led to a great cross by Phil to allow Jamie to head in the winner.

"I think both side will feel they created enough to get something out of the game, but we were fortunate enough to get the three points."
