Jamie Redknapp conceded that he found it difficult to regain his form on returning to action after so long out, but feels he hit the right notes again against Arsenal on Sunday.
The skipper was absent with a knee problem following the Southampton game on September 20 and only returned to the starting line-up on April 3 against Chelsea - in the midst of a difficult period for the team.
"To be honest with you it has been tough," he reflected on his comeback games. I've been out for a long while and when you come back it does take three or four games to feel right.
"I don't make excuses, when I don't play well I am the first to admit it. It does take a little while to find your form and touch and I was pleased with how I played on Sunday, aside from the goal.
"I felt fit, got around the pitch and that is how I like to be as a player."
