London born and bred and an Enfield resident, Ledley is our longest-serving player and knows exactly what the training ground could bring to the Club.
Pictured writing his letter, Ledley said: "I have lived in Enfield for the last few years now so I feel very much a part of the borough and I know what a difference the Club could make. Along with the other players we are often working with local people in Haringey, Enfield or Islington and we know how football affects people's lives for the better - the training ground would be a very good thing for the borough. I have written to the council and I ask all supporters in Enfield to do the same.
"In the senior squad, we are very excited about the prospect of the new training ground. We're up against the best players in the world on a weekly basis and we know that to compete regularly and challenge the top teams in the Premiership and Europe we need to develop our training facilities. This would not only give us the best chance in the top flight, but it would also ensure that young, local talent can rise to the top and we can give our fans the Club they deserve."
The important decision as to whether the Club will get permission for a new training facility will be made on July 11 by Enfield councillors. A key factor in this decision will be the amount of support for the scheme shown by local residents. If you live in any of the following postcodes and support the scheme then please write or email the council.
EN1, EN2, EN3, EN4 (part) EN8 (part) N9, N11 (part) N13, N14, N17 (part) N18, N21, N22 (part).
