Our reserves hit their Southend counterparts for six in a training ground friendly at Spurs Lodge on Tuesday.
Adel Taarabt's 20-yard curler and Kyle-Fraser Allen put Clive Allen's team in the driving seat with a two-goal lead at the interval.
Half-time substitutes Jon Obika and Alex Olsen made their mark in the second half with Obika scoring twice and Olsen once as the lads capitalised on chances created. Charlie Daniels was also on the scoresheet as it finished 6-0.
"I was pleased in the way we scored our goals - the play, the build-up and the execution was very good," reported development coach Clive.
"That was important because we've had a couple of performances away last week in friendlies at Middlesbrough and Celtic where we've dominated but not made our possession count. This time we created chances and put them away."
