League Cup-winning midfielder and former England international Andy Sinton was among the stars in action for the Spurs Legends team as they secured a 3-0 win at Letchworth Garden City Eagles in Hertfordshire on Sunday afternoon.
Sinton, who recently guided AFC Telford United into the Blue Square Premier in his role as manager of the Bucks, started in central midfield, with Stuart Nethercott marshalling the defensive line behind him.
Up front, the strike pairing of David Howells and Micky Jarrett found the Letchworth goalkeeper in fine form in the opening stages.
Jarrett missed a handful of good chances, before Howells just failed to meet a ball in from the left by a matter of inches.
With the resilient hosts frustrating the ex-Spurs outfit, Jarrett finally broke the deadlock on 39 minutes when he embarked on a mazy run through the midfield before shooting low past the keeper and into the net.
Shortly before the interval, Nethercott knocked the ball down to Sinton just outside the box, but his well-struck right-footed effort was charged down by a defender.
Just prior to the hour mark, Howells fired over the bar, but on 70 minutes it was 2-0 as Glen Southam ran through and chipped the keeper.
Ten minutes later, the scoring was completed when substitute James Bunn fired home.
The match served as good practice for the Legends, who are in action against their counterparts from Reading FC at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday June 5.
Pencilled in to join regular stars such as Mark Falco and Garry Brooke is goalkeeper Espen Baardsen, while the likes of Jimmy Quinn, Mick Gooding and Ady Williams are scheduled to line up for Reading in the benefit match for Reading physio Paul Turner, which kicks off at 3pm.
