Michael Carrick believes Jermain Defoe is the best box finisher in the business at the moment.
The England striker took his tally to 14 goals in all competitions this season with a hat-trick in our 5-1 win against Southampton on Saturday.
Jermain's first treble for us summed up what Michael views as his best asset - being so alive in and around the box.
He worked a yard of space for Fredi Kanoute to lay on the opening goal after seven minutes, rolled home a one-on-one for his second and then pounced on the rebound from Antti Niemi's save for his hat-trick. Just for good measure, he set up Robbie Keane for the fifth.
"In terms of pure finishing, I don't think there is anyone better at the moment," said Michael, who had his best display in a Spurs shirt.
"When you look at the goals he scored against Southampton they were real striker's goals in and around the box - that's what he's best at.
"Other strikers might be better in other aspects but when it comes to goalscoring in and around the box, he's the best around.
"He's so quick and always gets a shot off, just give him a yard. He'll always make the goalkeeper work. That's why he's so dangerous."
