The Welsh stylist has featured in right, centre and left midfield this term and feels that covering more requirements will see him get more time on the pitch.
"The more positions you can play the better chance you've got of getting on when the manager needs you," said Simon.
"If you're stuck in one position all the time you are going to find it hard to break into a team.
"I've played on the left, the right and the middle of a three and I'm happy anywhere across the midfield."
Simon says he is not too fussy which position he is allocated and is glad to add versatility to his game.
"I've always played on the right or in the middle for Peterborough - anywhere in midfield will do for me really."
Does this mean Simon can be considered a two-footed player?
"Not really, I can swing my left foot when I need to. Obviously it is not as good as it could be, but it's good enough at the minute."
Simon Davies admits that being comfortable across the midfield can only increase his first team opportunities.
