Our young midfielder was handed his first taste of Premiership action at Anfield last April.
“I got 20 minutes and it just went by so quickly,” he recalled. “It’s a great stadium, a great crowd, so much history and a great place to play.
“Playing at places like Anfield it what it’s all about. Obviously I made my debut there and to play again would be a great experience. That’s what I’m looking to take from the game.”
A year on and Simon is beginning to show what he is all about.
Comfortable on the ball and willing to dig in, his greatest asset of having an eye for a goal has been underlined by three strikes in a handful of games of late.
He added: “It’s been a great year, especially the last three months and to go back to Anfield on Sunday, where I made my debut, and get another game would be a bit special.
“Liverpool have proved themselves to be one of the best teams in Europe at the moment, a great side and we’re going up there with a depleted squad.
“It will be tough but you to take what you can out of games and for the younger players the experience is what it’s all about.
“These are big games and it is tough but you are only going to gain experience by playing. For the younger lads it’s all positive.
“We can all look back later on and say we’ve played at places like Anfield. We’re a young side, an injury-hit side and it will only be good for us.”
Simon Davies goes back to where it all started for him in a Spurs shirt on Sunday.
