Simon's final step

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

A first 90 minutes since November, a headed goal, a Welsh call-up - Simon Davies has one step to go to complete his comeback.

The midfielder completed a full shift and scored for the reserves in last night's 2-0 win against Norwich City at Carrow Road.

With confirmation earlier this week from new boss John Toshack that he was in the Wales squad to face Hungary in the friendly on February 9, it's no wonder he's smiling again.

"I feel brilliant," beamed Simon at Carrow Road. "I felt better and better as the game wore on, felt stronger fitness-wise and enjoyed it again.

"The next target is to get back into the first team 16. Chris Hughton was here watching and hopefully I've done enough.

"It was another confidence boost being named in the Wales squad. I found out a couple of days ago when the manager rang me and that was great news for me.

"Hopefully I'll get some part of a first team game under my belt and a friendly will be ideal for me, I'd love to be involved in some capacity.

"To be honest though, it's been enjoyable to play again the way I know I can."
