The Welsh starlet is available again for Sunday's Premiership clash against West Brom after serving a one-match suspension against Birmingham City.
First he faces a battle to regain his place with the likes of Steffen Freund, Gus Poyet, Darren Anderton, Jamie Redknapp, Milenko Acimovic and Steve Clemence all after the three midfield positions.

He said: "It's a great side to play in and all the midfielders are vying for those three positions.
"I'm really looking forward to getting back in there and playing in that position. It's probably my favourite position to play in, three in midfield.
"If I do get back in, I'm confident enough in my ability to do well, but it's all about getting that chance.
"It's easier to play more attractive football in the 3-5-2 whereas 4-4-2 is slightly more rigid and you grind out results.
"The manager has made the decision to play that way, it was a great performance against Leeds and the players we've got are suited to that system."
Simon Davies can't wait to break back in the side and play in his favourite position in the 3-5-2 system.
