The midfielder completed the full 90 minutes of a practice match against QPR at Spurs Lodge yesterday.
"It was a good run out and I got 90 minutes under my belt which is the most important thing," said Simon, out since September with a hip problem. "It's another step towards getting back.
"I feel I've still a little way to go because I've been out for a long time without any football.
"The injury feels okay. I'm still aware of it but I've been told to expect that and get on with it. That's what I'm doing. I've had the 90 minutes and I'll now see how it reacts.
"I'm desperate to get back because I'd love to be able to try and help the team."
