The Welsh flyer reflected that the boys were a bit uptight in the opening stages of the game after recent setbacks and points out that the defending as a team must improve.
"It was a massive result for us in the end," said Simon. "I think everyone could tell the lads were a bit edgy and nervous so to get the win under our belts means a lot to us.
"We were creating chances so we always knew we could score, but we would have preferred a more routine victory - but the result is all that matters.
"We look at the goals we've conceded and we're disappointed with them. Robbie scored a great hat-trick that won us the game, but we're disappointed with our defending as a team."
Simon adopted a simple and direct approach when asked to describe the impact Robbie Keane had on the game.
"Great game, great goals, great player."
Simon Davies admits that he would have preferred a more straightforward victory, but was delighted all the same with the 4-3 triumph over Everton.
