The Welsh starlet joined Teddy on the scoresheet in the 4-1 win against Sunderland when the skipper bagged the 300th club goal of his career.
Simon says the skipper's friendship and advice has been invaluable as he's risen to one of the hottest properties in the Premiership.
"Teddy has been great since he's been back at the club," said Simon. "I've got to know him well, started off by playing a bit of golf and we're good friends off the pitch.
"He's been a great player, one of the best the Premier League has had. He's won everything so as a young player you need to follow him and you'd be stupid not to try and take up on a few points.
"He's such a winner. Even when we play golf there is so much needle in it. The winning effect has rubbed off on him and the will to win is rubbing off on all the young players as well. We want to win every game we play.
"If it's a tight game you just have to listen to him on the pitch and he's always willing everyone on.
"Even though he's a mate he'll soon tell me if I've done something wrong on the pitch. It's great to have him out there, on my shoulder telling me where to be and where he wants me. I'm learning all the time."
Simon Davies has reaped the benefit of Teddy Sheringham's experience and insists his will to win rubs off on everyone.
