Simon Davies is closing in on a return to action - this time he hopes it's for good.
The Welsh midfielder is finally on the way back from the hip and shin problems that restricted him to just 17 appearances since last September.
He eventually underwent surgery in pre-season to cure pain in his shins.
"I'm progressing well and I don't really get too unfit so it shouldn't take too long to get back to fitness," reported Simon.
"I could have had it done in the summer but surgery really is a last resort.
"The rehabilitation didn't really pay off though so I've had the operation.
"Hopefully I'll be back soon so I won't have missed too much. I'd love to be out there and this time I want to stay out there."
Nevertheless, Simon has been impressed with what he's seen so far.
"It's a positive start," he added. "There is no quick fix in football - we've got to get used to the manager, the manager has to get used to us and it will take time.
"It's basically a new side and with that in mind, we did well. The more and more we play and train together, we should get better."
