From a superb teasing cross from Robbie Keane, Simon flighted in his header off the underside of the bar to give us a 2-1 lead at Maine Road and he confirmed afterwards that it was unique among his collection.
"It was my first one!" he grinned. "It was nice to get it and great to get the goal that took us in front of them.
"I thought we could have had more and Gus came on and got a good goal. We were hanging on a bit at the end, but it was a great away win.
"It was a great game. In the opening stages we had to hold on a little bit then they scored.
"It was good to come back with a set piece, ending in a goal from Chris Perry and after that we dug in got our shape right. They probably found it harder to break us down and we broke on them really well and scored a couple of good goals."
Simon Davies' goal against Manchester City on Monday was the 21st of his career - and the first with his head!
