Martin Jol is looking to silence the famous Toon roar as we travel to Newcastle United for another key Premiership clash on Saturday.

Another 50,000-plus crowd is expected for the encounter at St James Park.

Head Coach Martin feels one of the keys to success against Newcastle is to silence those home fans – just like we did in a 1-0 Premiership win last season.

"That is always a main message - to silence the crowd and if you do that you are doing well,†said Martin.

"I think Newcastle are capable of winning games at home but losing games as well and I’ve just told the lads that we need to try to win all our games now.

"I think Newcastle have a terrific side and the quality in the squad is amazing.

"I still think they could have finished fifth or sixth but they’ve had problems, Graeme Souness left and then they had a good spell under Glenn Roeder but lately they lost four games.

"They are playing for their pride and that can be a dangerous thing."
