Shayon's goal

Shayon Harrison agreed with Ugo Ehiogu's analysis of our Under-21s' 1-1 draw at Southampton on Tuesday night.

Coach Ugo talked about some fine passages of play in the attacking third at St Mary's but a lack of cutting edge at the business end.

Shayon, back from injury and determined to get back amongst the goals, felt the same way.

"Once we got into the final third we rushed things a little and I think if we showed more composure and been more clinical we would have scored more goals," he said.

"We had a lot of chances, especially when we dominated the first half, but then going 1-0 down made it all the more difficult."

Jake Hesketh hit a spectacular opener for the Saints just after the hour levelled by Nabil Bentaleb's volley on 77 minutes.

It was Shayon's first start since November and there were mixed feelings for the young striker afterwards. "It felt great getting back out there but I'm disappointed not to get on the scoresheet," he added.

"I want to score in as many games as possible so I'm always disappointed when I don't, but I'll keep working in training and hopefully put it right in the next game."
