Sebastien Bassong paid a visit to Keys Meadow Primary School, Enfield, this week to support their Marathons for Mali fundraising project.
Year 3 pupils from the school have been running sponsored laps around sporting locations across London to raise money for Oxfam’s work in the impoverished African nation.
After visits to West Ham, Watford and Crystal Palace football clubs, as well as Lea Valley Athletics Stadium and Enfield Cricket Club, the project culminated in a special visit to the school from Seb.
The Cameroon international defender took part in a Q&A session with the children who have taken part before joining them in their final marathon around the school field.
He said: “It has been a fantastic achievement from all the children to do what they have done to raise money for a good cause.”
