Sebastien Bassong would love a repeat of August 16, 2009 when the 2010-11 campaign kicks-off next month.
That's the day the defender introduced himself to the Spurs faithful in the best way possible.
Making his debut in the Premier League, Seb rose high to power home a header from Luka Modric's free-kick to clinch a memorable 2-1 victory over Liverpool on the opening weekend of the season.
Things went from strength to strength for both the team and Seb from there.
The lads put together our best starting sequence since the famous double campaign of 1960-61 with four successive victories in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Seb started our first 13 matches on his way to making 38 appearances in all competitions, including 25 starts as we finished fourth in the Premier League.
We've another mouth-watering first fixture to look forward to as Manchester City travel to the Lane on the provisional date of August 14, a date subject to change.
"It's a tough game but a good start for us," said Seb, whose performances earned a call into Cameroon's World Cup squad.
"We started last season with Liverpool at home and that was a fantastic start for the team and me as well.
"Actually, I thought about that when I heard about the first match when I was in South Africa!
"Hopefully all the players will come back fit from the World Cup and I'm sure we'll be ready to go again."
The start to last season certainly provided the platform for that fourth-place finish. "It's always important," added Seb. "Last season we started so well with four wins out of four and we'll try to do the same this time around."
