Spurs fans in Seattle are raising their glasses to our impending tour visit with the launch of a special edition beer.

Ahead of our summer trip to the city, where we’ll face MLS giants Seattle Sounders on July 19, official Supporters’ Club Seattle Spurs have joined forces with a local brewery to create their own British Bitter to toast our arrival in the area.

The drink, being billed as ‘London Calling’, is the brainchild of keen Spurs fan and former White Hart Lane season ticket holder Adam Robbings – a member of Seattle Spurs who moved to the States a few years ago and co-founded Reuben's Brews back in 2012.

Adam has enlisted the help of his fellow Supporters’ Club members, along with supporters from Sounders’ fan group – known as Gorilla FC – to launch the brew, with proceeds set to be donated to Street Soccer Seattle, a locally-based organization that uses football to empower homeless individuals to find greater success and peace in their lives.

“My dad has supported Tottenham Hotspur for his whole life, and so it was only natural that I followed the family tradition,” Adam explained. “Hearing that Tottenham are playing a game against Seattle in July was really exciting – so exciting, it called for a beer to be brewed! I thought it would be awesome if we could brew this beer specifically for the game and to raise money for charity at the same time.”

Made with a base malt of Maris Otter, Golding hops and a British fruity yeast strain, the drink’s backbone is provided by British crystal malt to offset the bitterness.

“As a commercial brewery we have never brewed a British Bitter,” Adam continued. “I prefer to call the style British Pale Ale, as here in the Pacific Northwest our palettes are used to the IBU punch of our local IPAs - so a British Bitter seems in no way bitter to us!”
