Heurelho Gomes described his trio of world-class saves to deny Arsenal as a ‘great feeling' but again insisted: "I'm just doing my job."
The popular Brazilian goalkeeper bagged his own hat-trick in the space of four minutes to twice tip over efforts from dangerman Robin van Persie before turning Sol Campbell's point-blank header onto the crossbar.
The visitors finally broke through in the 85th minute but we defended stoutly to hang onto the 2-1 lead handed to us by Danny Rose's magnificent 30-yard volley and Gareth Bale's cool finish from Jermain Defoe's defence-splitting pass.
"It was a great moment for me because I helped the team win the points but I feel the same way as always, I just want to do my best for the team," said Gomes. "I train every day and I feel I'm in my best form now.
"I thought we played really well. If they scored it would always be difficult because they are such a good team, so I wanted to save everything.
"It's a massive win because if you win like that, it gives you the confidence to keep going forward. We have more tough games coming up and now we look forward to Chelsea.
"They are top of the league and will come to win the game. We know we need to try to win as well because we're fighting to get into the top four. If we win that game it will be massive for us. It's another huge game."
