Sandro has had a taste of the FA Cup and Craven Cottage – and would love another bite at both
The Brazilian midfielder made his first start for us in the Premier League at Fulham’s famous old ground by the banks of the River Thames back in October, helping us to a 2-1 victory.
And he was back in the starting line-up as we kicked-off this season’s FA Cup campaign with a 3-0 win in the third round against Charlton at the Lane.
Now we face the Cottagers in round four and Sandro is determined to feature again in a competition he was fully aware of before his move to Spurs from Brazil.
“Yes, I know all about the FA Cup, how important it is and how well it is known outside this country,” he said.
“Last year, when I was in Brazil, I watched the final on Brazilian TV.
“It’s a real pleasure to play in the competition for Tottenham and it would be a dream to play in the final at Wembley but that’s not just for me, that’s for every player here.”
Sandro also knows the tough test ahead against a Fulham side coming into a bit of form and four matches unbeaten – including a 6-2 hammering of Peterborough United in round three – before an unlucky loss to Liverpool on Wednesday.
“I remember the last time I played there we won, but it was a great atmosphere at Craven Cottage and a very difficult match.
“I just hope I’m doing well enough (to play) and I’m ready for this big match. I know how important the FA Cup is for Spurs and if I play, I will give everything.”
