Our Brazilian central midfielder is renowned for his total commitment in a Spurs shirt – and he’s under no illusions about the size of the shift that’s going to be required as we come up against Roberto Martinez’s attractive style of play.
“We have to push for the whole game because Everton are playing well and are a top side as well as us, so we have to win,” the 24-year-old said.
“We have to play well again and we know it’s going to be a really hard game.”
Sandro, like many of the lads, has also alluded to a desire for revenge after our last-minute defeat at Goodison Park last term. Two goals in stoppage time saw Everton, then under the stewardship of David Moyes, overturn a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1.
“Last season in the last two minutes we ended up being disappointed,” Sandro added.
“It’s always difficult to play games away from home, and Everton will be no different. It will be hard but we are strong.”
