Sandro admits he is feeling like ‘part of the family’ at the Lane after a string of impressive performances have seen him establish himself in the team in recent weeks.
The Brazilian midfielder had to bide his time before getting a run in the side after arriving from Internacional in the summer.
But he has started four of our last five games, including both legs of the famous Champions League Round of 16 success over AC Milan in which he played a key role, earning many a plaudit for his defensive displays.
Helping us advance past the Italian giants was special for Sandro, but now he is putting the achievement behind him with big games coming up both at home and in Europe.
He said: “I really enjoyed the moment with the Spurs supporters and the team, but this is in the past now and we’re looking to the future and the next match.
“I know I have had to wait for my opportunity but it came in a big match against AC Milan. I was happy with my performances and I feel like I am part of the family at Spurs as we look forward to the next round of the competition.
“I know there are big matches coming up now so we need to keep our concentration for both the Premier League and Champions League. We have a good squad with many qualities and everybody knows their responsibilities to do everything well.”
West Ham are next up at the Lane in the Premier League on Saturday, and Sandro is certainly not getting too far ahead of himself.
The 21-year-old added: “I know this derby with West Ham is a very important match. Everyone in the team knows their place and what everyone’s doing to keep our run going.
“For me it’s about keeping my concentration and my position in the team, so I hope to be successful in this next match.”
