Sandro has been selected in the Brazil squad for next month’s Copa America in Argentina.
The midfielder enjoyed an impressive second half to last season and has now won six senior caps for his country.
Brazil kick off their Copa America campaign against Venezuela on July 3, and face further group matches against Paraguay and Ecuador.
Mano Menezes’ squad also includes the likes of Dani Alves, Maicon, Lucio, David Luiz, Robinho and Alexandre Pato.
Giovani Dos Santos, meanwhile, will be in Mexico's squad for the tournament. They are in a group alongside Chile, Peru and Uruguay.
On Tuesday night, Sandro played an hour of Selecao’s 1-0 friendly win over Romania in Pacaembu – a match that marked the legendary Ronaldo’s final international appearance before his retirement.
Also in international friendly action last night was Sebastien Bassong, who played the second half of Cameroon’s 0-0 draw with Russia in Salzburg.
Roman Pavlyuchenko was rested for Russia following his hat-trick against Armenia at the weekend, while Benoit Assou-Ekotto was absent for the Indomitable Lions.
