Same again for Perry

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Chris Perry expects another two close encounters of the London derby kind in a crucial four days for the club.
Perry was outstanding again in defence as we kept our fourth successive clean sheet in a tight tussle at West Ham on Wednesday night.
Charlton Athletic now follow in the Premiership on Saturday and the FA Cup fourth round at The Valley next Wednesday (February 7).
Centre-back Perry said: “Charlton are always difficult to play against. Alan Curbishley’s got them organised and I think they will both be tight games.
“The cup game is probably more important for us because we‘re not going to win anything in the league and it’s important to get through that tie.”
The 27-year-old has been his typical no-nonsense self as we’ve tightened up at the back but he was quick to praise Gary Doherty, the new boy of the central defensive three, for his part over the last month or so.
Perry commented: “We seem to have got used to playing the three now and more importantly we have a settled back three.
“Gary Doherty has come in and done very well and obviously myself and Sol have played together for quite a while now and we have quite a good understanding.
“It’s a team effort though and the shape of the team looks a lot better.
“The Doc’s done well. He came here not knowing whether he was a forward or defender, played a couple of games up front and not really done as well as he would have liked but he’s come into the defence and been really solid.
“You have to start at the back. If you don’t concede goals you won’t lose games and if we starting scoring goals we’ll start picking up points and moving up the league.”
That was exactly the case against a buoyant West Ham on Wednesday when chances were at a premium.
If anything, we created the better chances, new loanee arrival Andy Booth had a goal disallowed and Oyvind Leonhardsen had an effort cleared off the line.
Perry added: “You look at West Ham’s current form and they are right up there as one of the best sides at the moment.
“They beat Manchester United on Sunday, a fantastic result and they were on a high but we came here after a rest, the lads looked fresh and were buzzing about, we looked for a point and got a point.
“We have to be happy with that and I thought we were unlucky when Leo’s shot was cleared off the line.”
Perry is 33/1 to score the opening goal on Saturday - click here for details.
Listen to Chris's views by clicking here
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
