Saints vs Spurs - positive vibes from Kyle

Kyle Walker is confident we can pick up a positive result at Southampton.

The flying full-back believes if we can repeat our performance in the first hour against West Ham - and maintain it over the 90 minutes - we can bring back some reward from St Mary’s.

Kyle knows we’re in for a tough test against one of the teams of the season so far in the Premier League, not least after seeing close up three of the players so key to Saints’ outstanding start.

Rickie Lambert, Jay Rodriguez and Adam Lallana were all selected for England’s latest squad for the friendlies against Chile and Germany, all three were capped and Kyle started alongside Lallana against Germany at Wembley.

“It will be difficult,” said Kyle, so honoured by being named captain for the first time in midweek.

“Southampton have a lot of quality players and a few have been called into the England squad.

“It will be tough but if we play like we did in the first hour against West Ham, with the same enthusiasm and desire, getting the ball in the box and getting shots off, why can’t we go there and win?

“I remember last year we went on a good run at Christmas, so why not do the same this Christmas?

“As I said, Southampton will be difficult opponents but if we play like we did for the first hour against West Ham, we can get a positive result.”
