FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
Spurs U17s 4-1 Reading
Michael Malcolm continued the hotshot trend in our U17s this season as Jimmy Neighbour's men overran a young, game Reading outfit.
Jamie Slabber is now making his mark in the U19s and FA Youth Cup after impressive early displays for the U17s and Malcolm would have done his long and short-term future no harm with a hat-trick.
Reading actually took the lead against the run of play before Mark Yeates (pictured) hit back in the 38th minute, rising well to beat the goalkeeper in an aerial challenge and heading home.
Malcolm struck in the 53rd minute to put us 2-1 up, a fine header after good work from Mario Noto and then drove home from the edge of the box to make it 3-1 with 20 minutes left.
Malcolm then completed his hat-trick with nine minutes to go, another header from Owen Price's cross.
"We played very well, passed the ball around well and created lots of chances," said boss Jimmy. "We were entitled to do that though becuase Reading had a very young side out.
"It was a good day for Michael but he's now got to build on it by keep working hard and scoring goals."
