The First Team squad will fly out to South Africa later today as preparations for the new season continue with our participation in the Vodacom Challenge.
It will be the second time we have competed in the tournament after we became the first team outside of Africa to lift the trophy in our only previous appearance four years ago.
This time round we open our compaign on Saturday against Kaiser Chiefs in Polokwane at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, which played host to four World Cup Group fixtures last summer.
Harry Redknapp will fly out on Sunday to link up with the squad and will take charge for our second fixture in Nelspruit on Tuesday July 19 against Orlando Pirates at the Mbombela Stadium, which was also used for four group games during the World Cup Finals.
The final of the Vodacom Challenge will take place on Saturday July 23 at the CocaCola Park in Johannesburg - pictured above - which hosted eight World Cup fixtures including Spain's quarter-final win against Paraguay and the Rugby World Cup Final in 1995. We will contest the final against the winners of the fixture between the Pirates and Chiefs.
