Ryan Mason to appear at half-time vs Newcastle

Tue 08 May 2018, 17:15|Tottenham Hotspur

We have a very special guest during the half-time break of our Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Wednesday night - Ryan Mason.

The midfielder who graduated through our Academy to captain the team and play for England will be interviewed pitchside at Wembley.

It will be the first time Ryan has been interviewed in front of his fellow Spurs fans since having to call time on his playing career in February, some 13 months after suffering a fractured skull while playing for Hull City at Chelsea.

‘Mase’ made his first team debut aged just 17 in 2008 and went on to play 70 times for us in all competitions before departing for Hull in August, 2016.

He played a key role in Mauricio Pochettino’s first season in 2014-15 - featuring 37 times in all competitions, 31 in the Premier League - and earned his only England cap against Italy in March, 2015. Earlier that month, he was one of five Academy players to start the League Cup Final.

One of his most treasured Spurs moments arrived a year later when he captained the team in the Europa League tie against Fiorentina. He scored in the second leg to take us through that tie.

Now 26, Ryan has been a welcome visitor back at Hotspur Way in recent weeks as he takes his first steps on the coaching pathway on top of regular punditry work across different media outlets.

Ryan’s interview will be on the big screens at Wembley - don’t miss the chance to welcome back one of your own!
