The Spurs XI pre-season friendly with Rushden & Diamonds on Monday August 4 will be a testimonial fixture celebrating over 10 years of service given by Physiotherapist Simon Parsell to the Conference club.
Simon, a Spurs fan since childhood, joined Rushden in 1996, just after Diamonds had reached the Football Conference. During his time he attended to over 200 first team players in the years that followed
He has seen the club win the Football Conference and Division Three titles, as well as more recent challenges as the team returned to Conference football.
Simon has also risen to the challenge of performing other roles at the club, including representing Diamonds in his column in the local newspaper, and writing a popular article for the matchday programme.
He will be on touchline duty for the game, noting that he is "doing a job that he has enjoyed doing for the past ten years or more" - and that "not too many people can say that!"
Rushden & Diamonds will kindly be making a donation to the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation as a result of our participation in this game.
