We travel to Ewood Park to face a Rovers side fourth from bottom and in a spell of six league defeats in seven games.
Their position seems amazing with the likes of Friedel, Babbel Emerton, Tugay, Ferguson, Cole, Yorke and Jansen in the side but that's the reality facing boss Graeme Souness at the moment.
Caretaker boss David commented: "They have a big staff, a lot of good players and players many teams covet.
"You couldn't ask for two better strikers on past form than Cole and Yorke, Emmerton was much wanted by several clubs in the summer and chose Blackburn and they've since signed the captain of Scotland, Barry Ferguson.
"Baggio is also there, Flitcroft has been a splendid captain for them and they've signed the boy Reid from Millwall, who did very well last season.
"They have lots of good players and I'm sure they will soon get a good run going because like ourselves, they will be tagged under achievers at the moment.
"They have a good tradition, they've done well and are Worthington Cup winners a couple of years ago of course when they beat us.
"People expect them to do well. I don't think there are unrealistic expectations, people don't expect them to eclipse Arsenal, Manchester United or Chelsea at the moment, but of the other group of clubs they are expected to be high in that ranking, as we are."
David Pleat doesn't expect it to be long before Blackburn Rovers are surging back up the Premiership.
