"I'm buzzing," beamed the young midfielder, who started the first six games of the season, but came off the bench at Highfield Road. "Just to get my first goal and to get it with a goal like that is a bonus."
Rohan picked up the ball in a deep position wide on the left and accelerated forward down the flank before coming inside and firing a spectacular effort into the top right-hand corner of the net. This from a player who earlier said that finishing was far from the strongest point of his game.
"That was a one-off strike. I've been working on it in training and it looks like it's paid off. I'm going to keep going and hopefully I can get more goals as I'm feeling very confident at the moment.
"I did it once before but this time I thought I would strike it, use Postiga as a decoy and BANG! GOAL!"
Despite appearances to the contrary, Rohan claimed that his goal celebration was planned.
"I knew what I was going to do when I scored - go over to the fans who have put faith in me and made me feel welcome. We've got good fans who want us to do well and hopefully we can repay them by getting the points and getting the victories."
Rohan Ricketts summed up his emotions in just two words when asked to describe how he was feeling after scoring his first goal for the club in the 3-0 win over Coventry on Wednesday.
