Rochdale v Spurs - team news

Fri 16 February 2018, 15:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino is considering a first start for Lucas Moura in Sunday's FA Cup fifth round tie at Rochdale.

The lightning-fast forward made his Spurs debut off the bench against Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Speaking at Friday's press conference, Mauricio said: "We’re so happy with Lucas and how he’s working and maybe he has the possibility to play, yes.

"After a busy period in the Premier League, a replay (v Newport) and the Champions League it’s always important to assess every single player.

"As I always say, it’s about Tottenham, not about the (player’s) name, but the collective and we have 24 players who are capable of playing in all competitions."

Mauricio revealed that Harry Kane 'took a few knocks' and twisted his ankle against Juventus. "If he’s fit maybe he has the possibility to play," he said.

"If he's not 100 per cent maybe it’s good to be on the bench. If he’s not capable of playing 45 minutes, half-an-hour or 20 minutes he’ll stay here (at the Training Centre). We need to assess him tomorrow."
