He played a key role in Benfica's run to the last eight of the Champions League last season and played in five Champions League matches this season.
Capped six times by Portugal, Rocha appeared in two friendlies against Scotland and Italy in 2002-03 and returned to the international fold this season, playing in Euro 2008 qualifiers against Finland, Azerbaijan and Poland.
