Paul Robinson insists the team must, once again, make White Hart Lane an arena where away teams do not enjoy their visit.
The keeper is talking from personal experience, our home form has been pretty strong in the last few seasons with a good points return and the former Leeds man recalls that the Lane was not a venue where teams expected to reap reward.
This season so far, the home form has not best, with more points gathered on our travels. The England international says this must change, hopefully starting with the visit of Middlesbrough on Sunday.
"Middlesbrough are next and they are doing very well - it will be a very tough game," reasoned Paul this week.
"They are high in the league and in good form, but we've got to make White Hart Lane a very difficult place to come again.
"I always remember when I was a Leeds player, it was a very difficult place to come and play. If you came away with anything you were ecstatic.
"We've got to make it like that again - a very difficult place for away teams to visit."
Meanwhile, Paul added that our recent run in the Barclays Premiership can certainly not be attributed to a lack of spirit in the camp and reasons that a breaking of the cycle will hopefully signal a string of positive results.
"We have lost six Premiership games in a row now and it has been difficult. We have had a change of Head Coach and a change of routine and hopefully we can start picking up points again soon.
"It is not a big burden at the moment but, if we don't start winning games soon, it could become a problem.
"The training is sharp, everyone is in good spirits - we just need to get that point or win that will start us off and hopefully it will just snowball from there."
To get that point or three on Sunday, Paul will no doubt be called upon to repel the threat of two former teammates who form the Boro strikeforce - two who are well known for their shoot on sight policy.
"Thanks for reminding me!" sighed Robbo. "Yes I'll be up against another couple of former teammates on Sunday - Mark Viduka and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
"'Vidukes' is a great player, as is Jimmy, two quality players. We need to keep them quiet and pick up the points for ourselves.
"Jimmy will shoot given any space and Vidukes is very much the same, both of them have got very quick feet and, given a yard or two, they will put a shot in."
